We’re looking for Nurse Practitioners experienced in mental health care, who are comfortable connecting with patients via our online platform. You’ll draw on the experience you’ve gained in mental health care, emergency medicine, or family practice to support our patients through affordable and accessible virtual health care.

Wage:
$90 / hr (this is an independent contractor position)
Location:
We are currently looking for NPs licensed to practice in, British Columbia. Successful candidates must have access to a phone and a computer with reliable internet connectivity. They must also have a private workspace to complete appointments.
Hours:
We ask for a minimum of 5 hours / week

As a Nurse Practitioner with Cognito, you’ll…

  • Conduct mental health initial assessments and develop individualized, client-centered treatment plans for mild to moderate anxiety, depression and insomnia;
  • Monitor client progress, evaluating and revising the treatment plan based on client progress;
  • Monitor medications and provide client education on medications including purpose, proper administration, intended effects, and side effects;
  • Work with NPs, Psychiatrists, and CBT Care Providers to ensure the best treatment plan is created for each client;
  • Receive robust training through CADDRA and our in house ADHD Training Framework to independently diagnose and treat ADHD with Psychiatry support;
  • Have the opportunity to participate in weekly and monthly NP, CBT provider and company-wide team meetings.

To be successful at Cognito, you’ll bring…

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct mental status and risk assessments;
  • Ability to apply crisis intervention and stabilization principles;
  • Ability to apply common screening tools for mental illness;
  • Knowledge of G Suite, Calendly, Accuro and Slack, or an interest to learn — we’re a tech driven company;
  • Confidence in providing virtual phone and video assessments;
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to build relationships without meeting face-to-face;
  • A friendly and growth-oriented attitude;
  • Experience in multitasking under pressure;
  • The desire to to work with a high-performing, highly communicative & empathetic team;
  • A BCCNM NP license to practice in British Columbia;
  • Additional CNPS liability protection due to independent contractor status.
